We’re almost done with the demo. The band approved Roger’s mix and Neil will be mastering it very soon.

In the meantime, we’ve been rehearsing for our shows this weekend. There’s not much to tell about that, but Martha took a bunch of pictures of us.

Since Martha’s home this week, she very kindly has agreed to work the board for us while we rehearse, and for this weekend.

A Bigger Band

As of yesterday, David Spatola has agreed to join the band. He’ll concentrate on the Celtic material, since those songs that are significantly improved by his drumming. Welcome to the band!

In other news: We’re taking a week off, and won’t be rehearsing at Nighthawk Books this Wednesday (September 28th), but will return on Wednesday the 5th. (Holy crap, it’s almost October!)

Here are the public rehearsal files for the week, including an oddity: Track 11 is a percussion loop we recorded in Nighthawk. We’ll try to use that as a background track live at the next public rehearsal if I can get my looping pedal to work. (We’re still looking for a real, live musician to play percussion, though.)

Get ‘em now; I’m going to have to start deleting the older rehearsal files at some point. (I’ll doubtless start reaching the storage limits of my free box.net hosting account if I keep uploading these every week.)

Pictures side-by-side

Barring one week when I was out of town, Matt and I have been rehearsing twice a week for about a month. That’s pretty amazing, especially considering that Matt rides to Highland Park from Bound Brook on his bike, about 45 minutes ech way. Come our debut performance in May, we should be fairly tight.

The real point of this post is really to see if I can get two images side-by-side, so here are two pictures of Matt’s mandolin in his bike’s basket:

All okay? Good. We’re rehearsing in Johnson Park tomorrow if the weather holds, so I’ll try to get some nice pictures.
